News: 23/02/2021
It's been a while since our last update, because there's not been any news. The SkegMiniFest elves (and our one gnome) were underground, plotting, scheming and generally working out what we can do to put the event on in 2021.
It's become apparent that unfortunately, we can't.
Although we now have a roadmap to come out of lockdown, so many things could still delay each step. This makes it almost impossible to plan SkegMiniFest 2021.
If we make the assumption that all will be well and all restrictions are lifted in June (which is the only point at which we could hold the event), but something went wrong, we'd have to cancel again. This costs us time and money and it causes more hassle for the staff and our guests.
Even if it all went well, all the bands that support us and play for free would most be likely to be gigging - we can't expect them to turn down paid gigs after more than a year without income from live music, and the amount of notice we'd have either way wouldn't be practical for us or the bands.
So really we're still in a pickle for this year. We've got to stay safe, sensible and legal for a bit longer, and we just can't balance everything out.
To all those who carried over your bookings from 2020, we thank you again for your continued support and can assure you that whatever happens, you've paid for the next event and your bookings are secured. You do still have the choice of a refund but as we promised last year, if you carry over your booking to 2022, you will still pay no more than you already have for the next event.
Stay safe,
The SkegMiniFest Team.

SkegMiniFest 2020 has been cancelled
It is with great regret that we have cancelled SkegMiniFest 2020.
The current situation still brings us great uncertainty and there are so many aspects of SkegMiniFest that are affected even before starting the event itself.
Given this, and our desire to put on the best event we can, we've taken the decision that the 10th anniversary event which would have happened this year will be postponed until 2021.
We will shortly be contacting all existing bookings to see if people would prefer a refund of this year's booking, or to transfer their booking to next year. When the booking pages reopen, they will be for 2021 bookings.
Stay safe, stay home but stay connected.
